USE GOOGLE AT ITS BEST

When a business uses Google My Business, it updates the profile which is linked to both Google Search and Google Maps. Its absolutely free and brings visibility to anyone with a smartphone.

Visibility for Places
Encourage all to become a Local Guide which gives additional editing capabilities for your town. To get an overview of being a Local Guide, click here.

Being a Local Guide gives you the ability to add a substantial amount of information to Google Maps. This includes:

> Rating and reviewing businesses
> Take photos (especially important when it comes to helping people to navigate changes to high streets as a result of social distancing measures)
> Add places
> Edit places
> Answer Questions
> Verify facts

Visibility for Businesses
Google has done a lot of work on ensuring there is functionality in their system to ensure COVID-19 messages from businesses to customers are prominent and easy to find.

Google My Business allows 360 degree photos which would be great for promoting how social distancing is being practiced in-store.

Google My Business will also ensure that basic but critical details such as opening and closing times, website, click and collect arrangements etc… are all visible, again very important given that many businesses may have changed how they are operating either temporarily or permanently. For example, Google has added functionality across Search and Maps that allows people to find restaurants that are temporarily acting as takeaways or are operating a delivery service.

Thank you ATCM for the information
