Meet the Team 2020
In May 2019, The new Kendal BID Board took up position. Brian Harrison, the former Vice Chair was unanimously voted on as Chair and Nick Pitt has taken up the position as Vice Chair..
We are pleased to announce that Richard Moore also remain on the Board, moving into our second term. we have lost a few people in 2019; Derek Jones- has had to concentrate on Better Leisure over Covid
Chris Taylor- has moved out of the area on a special 2 year posting
Jan Nicholson- has left the Board so that she can take up the reigns on the Kendal Coach Parking Initiative

The Board will meet on the first Tuesday of every month
The BID manager is Simon Thomas and was appointed by the BID Board of Directors, the Administration Manager is Carly Jones.
This group is responsible for delivering the BID Business Plan on behalf of the town. The BID Directors are:
Brian Harrison, Director, Chair & BID representative on Kendal Futures (Representing Small Business)
Brian Harrison is renowned in Kendal for being formally of the Federation of Small Businesses and Director of B and M Harrison Limited Financial Advice Professionals. A former Board Member (under the FSB), Brian’s business has recently opted in to pay the Levy so that he can join us again on the BID Board. Brian served in the Royal Air Force for 10 years and has over 30 years in financial services at a senior level.
Richard Moore, Director (Representing Office and Professional Services)
Richard has been managing partner, at Temple Heelis for almost 10 years and has seen remarkable change during that time, both with the needs of the firm’s own business, but also those of the businesses he advises. He brings, to the BID Board, his experience in running a firm and advising businesses.
Adrian Thiedman, Director (Representing Small Business)

Nick Pitt, Director (Representing Large Retailer)
Nick has 20 years in retail asset management, previously managing nearly a million sq ft of retail in Wolverhampton and worked as an associate director in Savills.
He also worked for Lloyds of London for a number of years after serving in the Household Cavalry regiment specifically the Blues and Royals.
Currently employed by Praxis, responsible for a number of shopping centres including Westmorland in Kendal.
Aaron Gilby, Director (Representing Large Retailer)
Aaron is the manager of WH Smith Kendal and Barrow. He has over 10 years of knowledge in the retail sector. He is a keen fell Walker of the Lakes and loves the area, so much so he relocated across from East Yorkshire. He is very keen to help grow tourism in Kendal and show the world what the town is about.
