WE LOVE KENDAL

Kendal Business Improvement District came alive in April 2014,  a business-led initiative its purpose is to develop projects and services that will benefit Kendal town centre and ensure it remains competitive and healthy in extremely challenging economic conditions.

As a limited not for profit company, Kendal BID has been able to invest nearly £1,750,000 in its the last five years, enabling a comprehensive marketing campaign, grant schemes to improve businesses. improvements to the appearance of the town centre, a busy festival calendar, group business initiatives and creating a strong business voice for the town.   Kendal BID has been voted in for a new term for 2024 -2029.

WHAT IS BID?

Kendal BID (business improvement district) is a not for profit organisation which aims to improve Kendal town centre, support local businesses and boost the local economy. BID is run by a team of community spirited unpaid volunteer directors alongside a project manager and admin manager.

WHAT DO WE DO?

We improve Kendal, support local businesses and boost the local economy through a range of activities. These include providing a range of grant funding, running projects, marketing Kendal as a destination for visitors and providing benefits to businesses and the public that use them.

WHO ARE WE?

Our team of unpaid volunteer directors all come from local businesses in our town. They come from a diverse range of sectors including retail, hospitality, professional services and healthcare. Alongside the directors the BID employs a project manager to deliver project and services.
